Can you introduce yourself ?

I am Raider, I am an artist. But I prefer to be called a creator!

What do you create?
Raider
I create figurines; more specifically, figurines that are almost alive and have a story! A story that we can all know once they have been on Earth long enough. Because yes, they are not from our world. They come from space, from another planet that we don't know. It's something new, something we've never seen before - something infinite, going on and on. They can grow, be smooth or be made of bubbles, ... But we don't know.

Why Scoop ?

I like the word "Scoop" because it refers to ice and I love that. But it's also a word that has a lot of different meanings, and I think that's kind of neat.

When did you create your first Scoop?
Raider
That was in 2019. I started sketching a figure based on my own imagination. And then I created it in 3D software. It's pretty amazing what you can do with these tools!

Do you think they will invade us?
Raider
They are nice and they are here for a reason. Maybe their planet is destroyed like ours. So maybe they're on Earth to escape and find shelter - or maybe for a completely different reason.

What are you trying to do with the colors?
Raider
I try to send a message or let people talk with Scoop. We all have a different interpretation of colors. But I think colors are a powerful tool or thing to add some fun and joy to this boring black and white world.

Is there a color you will never work with?
Raider
I'm not a big fan of green. The green we know, the green of the grass. It's way too flashy in my opinion. To tell you the truth, I can't really explain it. But that's one reason why I won't use it in my designs.

It's funny; it's the color that represents the environment!
Raider
Scoop is environmentally friendly. He doesn't eat meat. He loves animals. Animals are creatures just like him. Why would he eat animals? But as humans, we think differently. And maybe Scoop is here to send us a message, to tell us that we should care a little bit more about animal welfare.

Does Scoop get certain messages across?
Raider
In our world, there is a lot of discussion about the differences between men and women. But Scoop doesn't fall into either category. It's more like something in between actually... or even something else!

What can you tell us about their eyes ?
Raider
Their eyes are very important; they really stand out from the figure (and like on the neon lights by the way). They allow to hide emotions that can be various. It can be anger because he is frustrated, because he doesn't know how things work on our planet. But it can also be anxiety, fear or happiness.

Can you tell us more about the process of creating a Scoop (from A to Z) ?
Raider
As I told you before, I start to draw the silhouette with 3D software. And then I work with 3D printing to turn it into a physical object. And then I start molding it: I make a mold and fill it. And, the new Scoop is born and comes to life!

How did you create this neon collection?
Raider
As you may have already seen, there are many similarities between the figure and the neon. In fact, it is the outline of Scoop's silhouette. It's something you've never seen before. I really wanted to bring that feature to the neon. And I think it worked out pretty well!

Would you recommend having a neon Scoop in your home?
Raider
It's not at all disturbing, especially when the light level is at its lowest. And with this advanced technology, it's quite possible.

Can you tell us more about the neon of the big Scoop ?
Raider
With that iconic Scoop silhouette and his hands at his side, he doesn't know what to do on our planet. He's just arrived, a little awkward with his hands at his sides... And I think the neon expresses that feeling perfectly.

Can you tell us more about the neon of the Scoop with the balloons ?
Raider
This one is a more complex and fun version of Baby Scoop. It does something instead of just standing there. You can think of him as a more evolved version. He's been on the planet longer and he's found a way to get around. And especially when he's hanging like that, it's almost like he's actually flying.

What's the next Scoop?
Raider
I think for now the future of Scoop will be more physical, but I'm also working on more digital things like NFT. It's something that's really booming right now and of course I don't want to miss out on that! So, I'm working on that too and I think it's going to be pretty awesome. And of course, you've seen the little character and the big character, but you don't know what's in between yet... There's something in between!
