Personalize your space with LED neon lights perfectly suited to work and play.
Your story. Your space. Personalize your interior with a customized neon LED from yellowpop.
This week, we caught up with creatives who love their neon to discuss the inspiration behind their creations and the significance of neon in their worlds. From gamer lairs to video editing rooms, our customers use neon to share their stories with the world.
"This electric glow gives me energy to work," explains Phillip "Zain" Dias Jr. "It also creates a certain mood in my room. My room is usually dark, but the glow of the logo makes up for the darkness," he continues. "There's a sense of balance."
Inspired by the Z in Zorro and the Chinese characters in Zain (meaning unity), Philip wanted to bring his neon logo to life. "I wanted something that represented my brand in a mysterious way," he explains.
Similarly, podcast host and board game enthusiast John Kranz wanted to put his publisher's name forward and create a compelling backdrop for their studio. "As a publisher, we wanted to find ways to forge closer ties with the community we serve," he explains. "I wanted to create a welcoming studio that also reinforced our company's brand image. I started with the (tall) symbol, which is a great place to start, and complemented it with a custom neon sign displaying the publisher's name."
John has hung the neon in a place where it will be maximally exposed from two different camera angles. "It's a nice extra touch to add to the ambience of the modest studio I've set up," he says. "Previously, I had a green screen, but using a real background is more to my taste."
Customize it: LED neon lights for your creative world
For Atlanta-based creator and YouTuber @CreativeRyan, LED neon represents a new way of expressing himself and adding a distinctive style to his videos. "I'm very drawn to cool lighting and incandescent lights in the background or foreground of a photo or video," he explains. "It adds a vibrant element to the mood of the visuals. A neon light also creates an overall mood when you're relaxing in your space!"
Ryan has always wanted a neon, and thanks to our quick customization process, we had it perfected in no time. "I've always loved lighting and neon," he says. "When I finally found yellowpop, the problem was solved - from the standpoint of convenience, price and turnaround time."
When it came to finding a creative gift for her boyfriend, student and brunch aficionado Kaci - aka @afriendwithbenedicts - turned to yellowpop to bring her vision to life. "The customization process was really easy, and I didn't need to ask the team for help," she says of our custom neon creation tool.
"I needed to find a Christmas gift for my boyfriend, who loves technology and cyberpunk-themed items. He has an instagram dedicated to mechanical keyboards, and I thought having his instagram handle (@henkeyless) in neon would be a super cool gift!".
Tony Mancuso, another yellowpop customer, decided to relax with his neon. "I wanted to create a relaxing environment in my room for my montages, so I chose the word 'relax'," he explains. "I wanted it to be the centerpiece of the room, so I hung it in the middle of my central wooden wall. It really helps me relax during set-up or when I'm getting ready for bed. I love the fact that I can adjust its brightness, because it can be very bright, which I love!"
Neon Connections: what our friends and fans have to say
"Neon kind of speaks to you," John explains. "Backlighting works really well with neon, so it's really the combination of neon with lighting that helps create something special."
He's not the only one swooning over the iconic neon. "My roommates work in the art departments of several TV shows and they've both been very impressed," notes Tony. "Sometimes they come into my studio to look at it and say nothing. It's a bit strange, but I don't mind."
After sharing her gift with her boyfriend, @afriendwithbenedicts also received a salvo of appreciation for her personalized neon. "Everyone thought it was super cool and her gamer friends want one for themselves too," she says. Ryan felt the same way. "All my friends know about it," he says. "I even made a YouTube video about it. They all said, 'I need one as soon as possible.
"I hung my neon sign above my workspace because it was a beacon of hope," Philip explains. "It's like I'm being called to action to create amazing work for my customers." He also showed his neon yellowpop to friends and family. "They loved it," he says. "It made them feel like it was official now."
